Applications for the Second Edition of the URC Master will be possible from March 25.
#Application procedures are generally managed by the services of the University of Augsburg and its VIBS Online Application Portal.
#The admission procedure is carried out by the joint URC Examination & Selection Committee, based on transparent pre-determined criteria.
I. Formal Requisites
Please apply via the VIBS portal with a tabular CV and short motivation letter, uploading certificates and proofs for the following prerequisites:
- General Higher Education Entrance Qualification
- BA Degree above average (or higher) in Geography, Literary/Cultural Studies, Sociology, Applied Linguistics, Ethnology, History, Political Science, Urbanism, Space & Urban Planning, Architecture, Design or similar
- Language Skills (CEFR): English C1 and Spanish C1 or Portuguese C1
Applicants who fulfill these formal requisites, based on their submitted certificates and proofs of language skills, will be admitted, and invited to an online assessment for optional scholarship support.
II. Assessment
In the online assessment, we will focus on four criteria fields, based on the formal skills, competencies, and knowledge of each applicant:
- Intercultural Competencies
- Communication Skills
- Interdisciplinary Skills
- Urban & Socio-Cultural Knowledge (Europe & Latin America)
III. Scholarship
Upon availability, each year a call for scholarships will be published, reserved to admitted URC students, where they will be invited to apply for scholarship support, sending in a commitment letter, certificates, and proofs for the following scholarship criteria:
- Assessment Score
- Graduation
- Language Skills
- Study Experience Abroad
- Project Experience
- Voluntary Work
- Special Consideration
Based on their assessment score and the submitted documentation for their scholarship application, applicants will be ranked, and accordingly offered scholarship support upon availability.
Please consider that for scholarship application more documents will be required than for general application. Also, applicants will have to comply with the specific scholarship call (and therefore should not send an ‘omnium gatherum’).
Independently of a scholarship, all admitted applicants can also matriculate as
self-funding students and start their URC studies in Augsburg in October.
