Our international Urban Cultures (URC) Working Group was founded at Augsburg’s ISLA Institute of Iberian and Latin American Studies in 2018 and seeks to foster transdisciplinary research and cross-cultural study perspectives regarding the diverse dimensions of culture and creativity to comprehend better the sociocultural complexity of our cities from a transareal point of view.
Besides transfer-oriented City Talks, regional Workshops, and transatlantic Network Meetings, the Working Group has also organized since 2019 a number of transdisciplinary Lecture Series, Conferences, and Panels together with its international Partners and Stakeholders.
In October 2024, URC launched the first edition of its accredited international Urban Cultures Master Degree’s Study Program with a cohort of worldwide students starting at the University of Augsburg.
